Hidden above the Vail Valley, within the borders of the Colorado White River National Forest, lies Outlaw Ranch, LLC, a full-service pack outfitter with permit licenses for tent camps in the Eagles Nest Wilderness area --most of which is located within Unit 36.
The Eagles Nest Wilderness is a U.S. Wilderness Area located in the Gore Range near Vail, Copper Mountain, Frisco, Silverthorne, and Heeney, in Summit and Eagle Counties Colorado. Eagles Nest Wilderness falls within the jurisdiction of Dillon Ranger District and Holy Cross Ranger District, White River National Forest. The 133,496-acre (540.24 km2) wilderness with 180 miles (290 km) of trails was established in 1976.
Outlaw Ranch, LLC has operated fully guided hunts, hybrid hunts, drop camps and packing services since 2005. Historically the area has been a haven for Elk and Mule Deer with the lush vegetation, rugged topography and relatively light human traffic. All of our guided hunts are a'horseback
Beginning May 2012, the Spraddle Creek jeep trail will be closed to vehicle traffic just outside our corrals. This popular area will now be accessible only on foot or by horseback. This is good news for you, our hunters. The pressure will be off all summer and the big game will relax. Because of this we are only taking a limited number of hunters fall 2012 to build the herd. 12 hunters max for each rifle season.

DROP CAMP VS. FULL-SERVICE CAMPS
Drop Camp
As the name suggests, we pack you in, drop you off, and then pack you back out. Drop camps
include a large (16' X 20') wall tent, cots for sleeping, a wood stove for heating your tent, a
propane stove for cooking, and an ax and bowsaw for cutting firewood. Each camp is located
near running water. Hunters are responsible for their personal belongings, food, cooking,
firewood cutting, and for field dressing and quartering of game. Packing out of harvested game
is included.
Full-Service Drop Camp
Similar to a drop camp, but with the added convenience of a full-time cook and camp
caretaker. We supply the food, prepare all meals, cut firewood and maintain the camp. The
only difference in camp set up is the addition of a separate tent for the cook and caretaker.
Full-Service Guided Camp
All of the amenities of the full-service drop camp, but with the addition of (a) one experienced,
full-time guide for every two hunters, and (b) horses for hunters to ride back and forth from
camp to hunting areas. As with the full-service drop camp, a separate tent houses the guide(s),
cook and camp caretaker.
